Located near a gravel quarry, the Coburn Bridge's queenpost truss was tested by heavy loads for many years. The bridge has had a handful of repairs over the years. The Covered Spans of Yesteryear website notes that repairs were done in 1960 and 1961 to correct "sagging caused by rotting timbers". The wooden deck was replaced in 1972 with a self-supporting concrete slab. Unique for its hand-worked timbers, the old truss was renovated in the winter of 1996-97.
