Welcome to the VCBS ABOUT home page. There are many aspects to the Vermont Covered Bridge Society. On these pages we present our mission and organizational structure. There are also many committes that carry out the work of the society.
Also included in this section is the Burlington Charter for the Preservation of Historic Covered Bridges and our Lending Library.

- Agenda:
We are committed to generating public awareness and government consciousness to the importance of the preservation of our covered bridges. We accomplish this in a few ways. We host two meetings a year. We publish a quarterly newsletter, The Bridger. We also have a Bridge-Watch program where members are involved with keeping an eye on bridges in their areas. We have a seat on the VTrans Historic Bridge Committee as well.
- Organization:
The VCBS is overseen by a number of elected officers. In addition, there are a number of committees that work under the direction of a member of the Board of Directors.
- Board of Directors:
The Board of Directors consists of Directors, Director-At-Large, Advisory Director, President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
- Standing Committees:
The Standing Committees are the: Bridge-Watch, Communications, Historical, Events, Legislation Watch, Membership, and Publicity.
