The Gorham bridge went through a rehabilitation from the spring of 2003 to the summer of 2004. The work included replacing many rotted members, reinforcing the roadbed, abutments, and the roof. The bridge is jointly owned by the towns of Pittsford and Proctor.
Contractor Crane Service (CCS) of Morrisville was the prime contractor for the project. The cost of the project, estimated to be $1,243,788, was funded by the National Historic Covered Bridge Preservation Program. The truss work was done by Groton Timberworks, and the abutments by H.B. Fleming Inc.. Click here for a detailed account of the rehabilitation work: Gorham Bridge Rehabilitation
Our thanks to the Town of Pittsford for allowing the posting of the Vermont Covered Bridge Society Welcome patch. For more information about Pittsford visit their website at http://pittsfordvermont.com.
