February 8, 2020: Nick Hedrick, of the Crawfordsville Journal Review, is reporting that the Cades Mill Covered Bridge has been nominated to be included in the National Register of Historical Places.
The article mentions that the bridge is in need of "major structural repairs". Additional funds would become available should the bridge become a national landmark.
The World Guide to Covered Bridges reports that the single span bridge was built in 1854. The 150 foot long Howe truss bridge crosses Coal Creek.
