July 31, 2021: James Crouse has passed along this reminder from the USPS website. Sara Martin, USPS Public Relations Representative for this stamp issue, informs us that the first day of issue is August 10, 2021. A ceremony for it will be held as part of the Missouri's Statehood ceremonies.

The stamp will feature the Bollinger Mill State Historic site depicting the mill and the Burfordville Covered Bridge.

Here is the Media Advisory from the USPS:

The World Guide to Covered Bridges lists the Burfordville Covered Bridge as a single span Howe truss. It was built in 1868 and measures 140 feet in length. The bridge crosses the Whitewater River in Cape Girardeau county.

For the full story, go to: U.S. Postal Service to roll out stamp celebrating Missouri’s upcoming birthday.
