Elizabethton, TN, November 6, 2020 - Anita Larkin Ford has passed along this information from the News Channel 11 WJHL.com website. The station is reporting that "around 100 Christmas lights decorating the bridge were smashed and stolen". The damage was discovered on Wednesday morning.

The vandalism has been reported to the local police. It appears that there was no damage to the bridge itself.

The Elizabethton Covered Bridge is 134 foot long and crosses the Doe River in Elizabethton. It was built in 1882 with a Howe truss.
