Heavy rains have caused flooding of the Marsh Creek in the Gettysburg area. Waterworks Road on what appears to be the southwest side of the Sachs Covered bridge is completely under water.

The Sachs bridge is almost 96 feet long and crosses the Marsh Creek between Cumberland and Freedom townships. It was built in 1852 with a town lattice truss. Being is close proximty to Gettysbury, the bridge saw action during the Civil War. Both Confederate and Union soldiers crossed the bridge aroung the time of the Battle of Gettysburg.
