New Hampshire State Map with Seal

November 4, 2020: Anita Larkin Ford has passed along this information from the WMUR 9 website. Erin Fehlau takes us on a tour of some of New Hampshire's covered bridges. Erin hosts the weekly NH Chronicle program on WMUR.

The video features a number of prominent covered bridge individuals such as Jim Garvin, Retired State Architectural Historian. Bridge builder Arnold Graton, his wife Meg Dansereau and step son Timothy Dansereau talk about the traditional methods of bridge building. Bill and Jenn Caswell, from the National Society from the Preservation of Covered Bridges, share their appreciation of covered bridges and the mission of the national society. Photographer Steven Brown reveals his efforts to capture his covered bridge pictures at any cost. Also featured is Arnold's father, Milton Graton. Milton was a well respected covered bridge builder and the author of the book "Last of the Covered Bridge Builders".

The bridges featured in the video include the Cornish-Windsor, Haverall-Bath, Ashuelot, Bartlett, Contoocook Railroad, Clarksville, Swift River, Saco River, Hanover, Squam River, Keniston, and the Stark covered bridges.
