October 11, 2020: James Crouse has passed along this information regarding requests to bid on the rehabilitation of the Spencerville Covered Bridge.
The following legal notice appeared in the Friday October 9th edition of the Auburn Star newspaper. The sealed bids will be opened on October 26, 2020.
Local fundraising events have been held inspite of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bridge project hass also received a conservation grant.
The Spencerville Covered Bridge (WGN 14-17-01) is located in Spencer Township in DeKalb County. The bridge was built in 1873 to cross the St. Joseph River. It is 160 feet long and uses a Smith Triple (#4) truss.
