April 22, 2020: James Crouse has passed along this information from the the Banner Graphic website. Jared Jernagan is reporting that the Houck Covered Bridge is in need of repair.
The roof of the bridge was damaged on April 8th during a storm with very high winds. The roof of the bridge was mostly torn off. It is also being reported that there was no structural damage to the bridge. The bridge roof is going to be replaced.
The Houck Covered Bridge was built in 1880 by the Massillon Bridge Company. The bridge was built to cross the Big Walnut Creek with a Howe truss. It consists of two spans and is 210 feet long.
