October 17, 2020: Anita Larkin Ford has passed along this information from the Journal Review website. Nick Hedrick is reporting that restoration work on the Darlington Covered Bridge is moving forward.

Thanks to a generous donation and a state grant of almost $20,000, the next phase of the rehabilitation can begin. This phase will focus on the "north abutment and the approach".

Once addition funding is raised, the next phase will address the floor.

The Darlington Covered Bridge (WGN 14-54-01) is located in Franklin Township in Montgomery County. The bridge was built in 1868 to cross Sugar Creek. It is 166 feet long and uses a Howe truss.
