An historic covered bridge in Woodstock that was damaged by an oversized trailer in May has been reopened following months of costly repairs.
On May 20, a truck that was hauling a trailer with landscaping equipment stuck and damaged the bridge, which has a 10-foot clearance and a 16,000-pound weight limit.
Interim Town Manager Frank Heald said the Lincoln Covered Bridge reopened last Thursday and is looking as “beautiful” as ever.
“It’s a classic long-span covered bridge construction, and really a thing of beauty,” Heald said.
