Lincoln Bridge Damaged by Backhoe

 

 

May 15, 2019: According to a Facebook post by the Vermont Standard, "The Lincoln Covered Bridge will be closed for the next few months after a pick-up truck with a long trailer carrying a backhoe tried to cross the bridge and caused major damages on Wednesday."

The driver called 911 following the incident.

Woodstock Police Captain Joseph Swanson reports that the bridge condition will be assessed in the near future.
