Jim Smedley informs us of news from Bob Salvi: On March 5, 2018 Liechtenstein issued a covered bridge stamp. The bridge is LI-01-03/CH-15-08 in Vaduz-Sevelin
Terry Miller provides details on the featured bridge: "...that's the 6 span bridge over the Rhine between Sevelen, Switzerland and Valduz, Liechtenstein...It was one of 7 Rhine bridges built about 1900, all using the 1840 William Howe double web patent, a truss no American has seen unless they've traveled in Switzerland or Austria or Germany. The greatest number are in Austria but the oldest, 1847, is in Kempten, Germany. It is a 3 span deck rail bridge now preserved in situ in a parklike setting. The bridge on the stamp is the only 1 of the 7 surviving, though 3 spans of another were moved nearby within Austria and parts were put up on a farm in Austria. That farm recently replaced the 2 short spans with brand new double web Howe bridges built in 2016 and 2012."
