Sanborn Bridge Getting National Attention

Google Map of Vermont with state seal

January 10, 2014: The privately owned Sanborn bridge seems to have been rescued from certain destruction. Now the story concerning this unique covered bridge is spreading beyond the local and covered bridge communities. On January 9th a film crew from Yahoo.com were on location to film the restoration and preservation efforts of the bridge. The segment featuring the Sanborn, along with a few other Vermont covered bridges, will air on the Yahoo.com show "Road Trip" on January 29, 2014.

On hand for the filming were Tim Andrews of the National Society for the Preservation of Covered Bridges and Eric Gilbertson of The Preservation Trust of Vermont.

The 140 year old Sanborn covered bridge has historical importance as it is one of the last examples of bridges constructed with a Paddleford truss.

The Yahoo.com report can be heard on Yahoo's Ram Country Road Trip on January 29th. The link for the report is: http://music.yahoo.com/video/playlist/ram-country/.
