Tinicum, PA July 22, 2013 - The Erwinna Covered Bridge has been damaged for the second time in the past ten months. This time a truck caused major damage a number of support beams. The bridge has been closed to all traffic at this time.
The bridge was reopened in December 2012 after undergoing $110,000 in repairs due to damage caused by another truck in September 2012.
.The historic Erwinna Covered Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge is listed as 43 feet long and was built in 1852 to cross the Swamp Creek.
