October 14, 2013 Greene County, OH - There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday October 18th at 10:00am to dedicate the new Charleton Mill covered bridge. According to an e-mail from Jennifer Shuey of the County Engineers Association of Ohio, the new bridge will be replacing the original covered bridge that was built in 1860. The bridge, designed by Smolen Engineering, uses a Howe truss as did the original bridge. The bridge construction work was done by the Righter Company.
If anyone is able to attend this event, please forward some pictures so that we can share this ceremony with the VCBS membership.
