September 26, 2013 - The Jericho Covered Bridge located in Kingsville, Maryland is scheduled to undergo major renovations starting in early 2014. The cost of the project will be around $2,000,000. The original cost for building the bridge in 1865 was $3,125. The bridge will be out of service for approximately one year.
During the bridges 148 year lifetime it has undergone two renovations. The renovations took place in 1928 and 1982. The Jericho Covered Bridge is one of six covered bridges in Maryland and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
The Jericho Covered bridge is constructed using a Burr arch and is listed as being 87 feet long and crosses Gunpowder Falls.
