Cabin Creek Bridge Restoration Begins

WGN KY-68-03

Google map of Kentucky with state seal

Recktorville, KY, March 12, 2013 - Arnold Graton and Walker began a two year restoration of the bridge last February.

The 114-foot Cabin Creek or C.F.Ferguson Farm or Macky or Hughes Farm Bridge was built in 1873 using a multple kingpost truss to cross Cabin Creek.

The cost to restore the bridge will be approximately $1.2 million. All funding is coming from a transportation enhancement program.

The bridge was closed in 1983 to foot and vehicle traffic, due to storm damage. It fell into disrepair after flood waters damaged more of the bridge.
