October 1, 2008- "This is Locust Creek Covered Bridge near Macon, Missouri. It is one of four surviving covered bridges in Missouri at 151 feet long. It was built in 1868. As a boy, General John J. Pershing swam and fished in the creek near the bridge. In 1991, the bridge was raised six feet to protect the floor from floods. It had recently flooded in that area. You can see the mark on the bridge."
