Middlebury, July 13, 2005 - I attended the Middlebury Selectboard meeting last evening in response to an article in the July 7th edition of the Addison Independent regarding the building of another in-town bridge in Middlebury. (www.addisonindependent.com/News/070705bridge.html)
The critical meeting I want you to be aware of is THIS FRIDAY MORNING, JULY 15, at 10:00 in the Middlebury Municipal Building at the southern end of downtown. I understand it is likely the group will then migrate to the Bridge in the latter part of the meeting.
Attending is expected to be, in addition to Selectboard members, "(quote) the state (VAOT?), covered bridge expert(s), and historic preservationists" (end quote)--how it was stated in comments following the "Bridge Committee" report. Jan Lewandoski was mentioned as being invited. 'don't know if Paul Ide will accompany him or not as Paul seemed to be the leader in the work done on the bridge in 2002.
This meeting is an open, public meeting, although no warnings or notices have been advertised.
