Buskirk and Salisbury Center Bridges Repairs - July Update

Google map of New York with seal

July 7, 2004 - We visited the Salisbury Center bridge on July 2nd and much progress has been made. Two of the wooden Laminated beams of the four have been installed and the ends of the bottom chord have been spliced and repaired. The arch has been removed so the sag can be removed from the bridge. It sure is great to see this work has started again.

We visited the Buskirk Covered Bridge on July 5th and found that the long glulam beams from Unadilla, N.Y. have been delivered. These will be used for the bottom chords. The floor has been removed and all you can see are the cross members that were under the floor. This project is coming along real well now.
