West Middletown, PA October 9 - Volunteer firefighters from West Middletown Borough, Avella, Slovan and Mt. Pleasant Township doused a rekindled fire at Wilson Mill Covered Bridge.
For the second time in two weeks, emergency personnel responded to a blaze at the bridge. Washington County 911 said a passing motorist called from a cell phone at 6:36 a.m. to report the flames. The county plans to reconstruct the bridge in early spring and will be applying for state funds because the bridge is a historic structure.
