Dear All,

I hope you're able to tune in to NOVA on Wednesday October 3rd at 8pm, for the premiere of 'Operation Bridge Rescue'. Check local listings, as time may vary from region to region.

As most of you know, the documentary follows the efforts of bridgewrights and engineers to rebuild and move the new Blenheim Bridge into place, exploring themes of heritage, engineering history and how covered bridges relate to community identity. We also travel to southeast China and investigate woven timber arch beam bridge technology and how the Chinese approach the preservation of bridge building knowledge. Of course, with more screen time, there is so much more we could do with this fascinating subject, but I hope this serves as an entry point for a wider audience into timber covered bridge study and preservation.

This is the second of my 'Operation ... Rescue' films for NOVA - if inclined, check out 'Operation Lighthouse Rescue', as a warm up for this Bridge installment.

Thank you all for your help and patience in making this documentary - please spread the word and I hope you enjoy the film!
