The original Power House Covered Bridge was lost on March 8, 2001 when it collapsed from a heavy snow load. The town Of Johnson determined to have a replacement bridge rebuilt as soon as possible. Blow and Cote of Morrisville, VT submitted the winning bid in November 2001. Work on the new bridge began in March 2002 and was completed in June 2002. The opening ceremony was held on June 29, 2002.
