Cedar Covered Bridge Resurrected

The Cedar Covered Bridge in Winterset, Iowa was the target of arsonists in the spring of 2017. Since that time the community has joined together and overcome the loss with the hope of rebuilding the bridge. In fact, they have been very busy raising funds and securing grants. The Facebook page, Rebuild Cedar Bridge, is full of donations, thanks, Go Fund Me campaigns, tributes and more.

The Cedar Covered Bridge was one of the bridges made famous the 1992 The Bridges of Madison County romance novella. The book was made into a feature film in 1995 starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep.¹
