March 3, 2021: The Bridgeport Covered Bridge restoration progress.

Herb Lindberg details the February bridge progress:

Drill holes through bottom chord for steel truss rods. Apply epoxy into bottom shoe daps to accommodate typically bowed cast iron shoes and set shoes into place. Lower the remaining truss brace-counter-brace triplets into their bottom-chord shoes and set top chord shoes. Complete rock face grouting at north portal. Complete installation of framed buttress posts and cross braces at both south and north portals. Install cross ties between the up- and down-river terminus buttresses of the south portal, and add wind braces at the resulting corners.

Carpenters from near and far corners of the U.S., some who fly in to work on the bridge, sign a bottom chord before installing a buttress footing on top of them; it will be more than 100 years, if ever, before these signatures are revealed, but hundreds of restoration enthusiasts as well as the carpenters know they are there!
