Restoration of Berks County 1869 Covered Bridge also Preserving Family History

March 9, 2020: Anita Larkin Ford has passed along this information from the Reading Eagle website. Holly Herman is reporting that the Dreibelbis Station Covered Bridge (WGN 38-06-07) is currently undergoing restoration. Work is projected to be completed by May.

The work is being done by Lancaster County Timber Frames of York County. A relative of the original bridge builders has been keep a watchful eye on the progress. The elderly gentleman is extremely excited to see this take place and preserve their legacy.

The Dreibelbis Station bridge is almost 190 feet long and crosses the Maiden Creek in Greenwich/Windsor. It was built in 1869 with a Burr arch.
