The Covered Spans of Yesteryear website provides the following notes for the Robbins Nest bridge: "The bridge was built by Robert R. Robbins to access land beyond it. The structure’s footings and framework were built in 1962 and the siding added in 1964. During construction, the trusses were built on the ground nearby and lifted into position by a crane. Steel beams were put under the deck in 1990, along with other restoration work. The bridge is a replica of Old Bridge (VT/45-12-77x), once located about one hundred yards downstream, which was destroyed in the flood of November 4, 1927.".
The consulting engineers DuBois& King's website details the work that was done during the repairs: Robbins Nest Covered Bridge Barre Town, Vermont.
