A waterfall and pool hidden beneath the Creamery Bridge lure local residents on hot summer days. The ruins of the creamery stand at the north portal, and the Jewett family farm and lumber mill were also located near here.
The bridge was closed in 1994 for safety reasons. In 2006 VTRANS completed a proposal to rehabilitate the bridge. The description of the project was to Rehabilitate the Creamery West Hill Covered Bridge, including timber superstructure, substructure, dry masonary and roadway approach work.
The rehabilitation work was completed in 2009 by Alpine Construction of Schuylerville, New York. Repair work was done to the "web members", lower chords, roof, floor, and abutments. Much of the original "fabric" of the bridge was able to be saved.
